Close friend of Depth Charge CEO, Zechariah Wise, and long time Depth Charge client, Nikki Jean, has signed with Columbia Records.  Nikki has been creating a loyal following over the past year and was featured on Lupe Fiasco’s hit, “Hip Hop Saved My Life.”  ”I couldn’t be more proud of her,” says Wise.  “She is one of my closest friends and one of the most talented people with whom I have ever worked.”  Wise was with Nikki this past month in Miami celebrating her birthday and her recent signing.  Early plans are vague, but it looks as the label is shooting to release a debut album from Nikki Jean sometime in 2010.

Interscope recording artist, Wale, has been a frequent client of Depth Charge Studios in the past and was recently in the studio recording vocals to tracks produced by Team Demo.  Wale’s debut album on Interscope is scheduled for a mid-2009 release.

Illa Ghee has been working out of Depth Charge Studios withTeam Demo for three years, and “Bullet and a Bracelet”features a few fruits of their labor; including the single, “Walk with a Shotgun,” featuring Prodigy of Mobb Deep. .  The album also features production from The Alchemist, Beat Firm and Havoc and is in stores and online now.
