Kurious and Team Demo Reunite at Depth Charge

Team Demo and Kurious have been friends since the mid-90s and have collaborated on several projects including “Wake Up” on Kurious’ long-awaited second album “II” released in 2009.  This time around, Kurious came to the DMV to work on his new album with Team Demo at Depth Charge Studios.  The two day session was the first of what should be several in the process of completing a diverse set of records for the album.

Team Demo Produces “Crime Wave” for 50 Cent

50 Cent’s new album, “Before I Self-Destruct,” includes the song, “Crime Wave,” produced by our production staff, Team Demo.  The album will be available November 16th.  The song is also featured in the highly anticipated video game, “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,” available November 10th.

Team Demo’s relationship with the Shady/ G-Unit family began in 2005, when Shady A&R, Riggs Morales, took an interest in the crew’s production work.  Since then, Team Demo has produced tracks for Shady artists such as Obie Trice as well as other development projects, but none of the work was ever massively exposed.  Team Demo finally received word in early 2009 that 50 Cent wished to purchase a Team Demo track for his forthcoming album.  The music was prepared and tracked at Depth Charge Studios in February, and the song was wrapped up by early Spring.

Black Cobain “Now or Never” Available Now

Black Cobain began recording at Depth Charge Studios back in May and released his first street album entitled “Now or Never,” this past Thursday.  The album was recorded and mixed entirely at Depth Charge by Zechariah Wise and features apperances by DMVheavyweights Phil Ade, Kingpen Slim and Kevin Ross.  Click here for more info and to download the album.

More Depth Charge Music Featured on MTV

Depth Charge’s relationship with MTV spans back several years.  Depth Charge first began licensing catalog to MTV in 2005 for the show, “Made.”Soon after, Depth Charge also began providing music for, “My Super Sweet 16,” and “News and Docs.” Depth Charge is proud to announce that music by Team Demo will be featured in upcoming episodes of “True Life,” as well as the new series, “Get Over It.M

Team Demo Produces “Wake Up” for Kurious’ Long-Awaited Album, “II”

Depth Charge and Team Demo go way back with rapper Kurious (aka Kurious Jorge.) Kurious and MF Doom met Zechariah Wise and DJ Dialtone in the early 90s through a shared business connection with Pete Nice of Third Bass.  In the late 90s, Kurious spent a great deal of time at Depth Charge with Team Demo and was featured on the 1997 release by the Lower Life Forms, “Independence Day.”  Years later, the connection remains strong as Team Demo and Jorge hooked up again to create “Wake Up,” for Jorge’s sophomore album, “II.” The album is in stores and online now through Amalgam Records. 

J-Scrilla “Culture of Honor” Available Now

Super-Producer and Depth Charge client J-Scrilla has just released his new album,“Culture of Honor.” on Inner Loop Records.  Much of the album was recorded and mixed by Zechariah Wise at Depth Charge Studios including the single, “Guns and Butter,” featuring K-Beta and XO.  Check out the video below and visit the Inner Loop Website for more info and downloads.

Kingpen Slim “The Beam Up” Street Album Available Now

Washington, DC artist, Kingpen Slim, is making noise with his new album, “The Beam Up.”  The album was almost entirely recorded at Depth Charge Studios and features “Phatter Than You,” and “Right” produced by Team Demo. 

Zechariah Wise & Dirty Hands Remix Chris Brown’s “Forever” at Depth Charge Studios

Depth Charge CEO Zechariah Wise and Fly Lounge’s DJ Dirty Hands teamed up to Remix Chris Brown’s latest single “Forever,” for Jive Records.  The duo collaborated over the course of two days at Depth Charge and the remix should be hitting circulation by the time this is posted.
